A new indoor show for home, interiors, gifts and local food opens at Cheltenham Racecourse on Friday. The Cotswold Life Home & Gift Show runs on Friday 2 and Saturday 3 October, from 10am to 4pm both days.

This is the show’s debut at the racecourse. It is run by Cotswold Life magazine, and tickets are sold through the LOCALiQ Events box office.

What is there

The racecourse lists four kinds of stand:

  • artisan makers
  • home and interior brands
  • unique gifts
  • specialty food and drink

The organiser describes two set pieces. One is a Homes & Interiors showcase. The other is a Food & Drink Hall, with stalls from local farmers, bakers, distillers and artisans, according to the ticket page.

Neither the racecourse nor the organiser has published an exhibitor list, so we cannot tell you which makers are coming.

Why a new show here

Cotswold Life has modelled it on a sister event in the north. Its stablemate, the Cumbria Life Home and Gift Fair, drew more than 7,000 visitors, the magazine says. Visit Cheltenham repeated the same figure when it announced the Cheltenham launch on 14 September.

For the racecourse, it fills a quiet weekend. The jump season does not start until the Showcase meeting on 23 October, so there is no racing this weekend.

What it means for you

  • Book or pay on the day? Tickets are on sale online now at £7.50. Neither page says whether tickets are sold on the door, so booking ahead is the safe option.
  • Free tickets. Visit Cheltenham’s 14 September post gives the code CLHG26VIC for two free tickets. It does not say when the offer ends.
  • Bring the children. Under-16s go in free.
  • Driving. Parking at the racecourse is free. If you would rather not drive into town, our parking guide has the alternatives.
  • Questions. The organiser’s enquiries address is events@cotswoldlife.co.uk. The racecourse events team is on 01242 539538.

It is also an early chance at Christmas shopping from local makers before the Christmas market on the Promenade arrives in December.
